The Decatur County Community Foundation has been helping lead the charge towards a stronger community in Decatur County. We’re able to do this because of the fantastic board members and staff members we have, along with the generous donors in our community.
About Decatur County Community Foundation
As the region’s community foundation, the Decatur County Community Foundation helps connect the generous people in the area with meaningful purposes. DCCF is helping lead the way for everyone in Greensburg and Decatur County in Indiana, now and for many years to come.
The Decatur County Community Foundation believes the greatest, positive change is possible when we have the right people in the right places, working together in harmony towards a common goal. We provide leadership with other community leaders to help drive that vision for a more successful community. We also help out three specific groups of people.
- Donors – Connecting them with causes that matter to them so they can make the greatest impact on our county
- Nonprofits – Providing funding so they can execute meaningful projects that help the good of the community
- Students – Passing along the gift of education from generous donors so they can thrive
As a trusted and connected partner in the community for over 25 years, we inspire generous people to invest in the region so it becomes better and better, now and for many years to come.
How does it work?
Generous donors establish funds at the DCCF, with gifts made during their lifetime or through bequests, to carry out their charitable goals. The DCCF Board, along with experts from the community, manages the funds by investing wisely to ensure the assets are protected and grow over time. As of 2019, DCCF has net assets over $23 million.
Where does the money go?
Because of the generosity of our donors, the DCCF can make investments across the region through grants to non-profits and scholarships to students.
What areas do you serve?
The DCCF not only serves Greensburg, Indiana but also the entire Decatur County.
DCCF is directed by a volunteer Board comprised of local leaders in the community.
The day-to-day operations are carried out by the staff, led by Executive Director Tami Wenning.
How can I help?
DCCF has many ways you can get involved. Whether it’s by starting a fund, giving to an already established fund, advising your clients on charitable giving, or volunteering on a community, DCCF has been able to grow and thrive because of the generosity of time and resources from those in the community.
What is a community foundation?
A community foundation, like the Decatur County Community Foundation, is a tax-exempt public charity created by and for the people in a region so that people with philanthropic interests can support issues they care about – now or through their estates.
Community foundations help individuals, familes, and businesses establish charitable funds using a vatiety of assets. Grants are made from these funds to nonprofit groups that meet the charitable goals of the donor.
