The following scholarships are managed by the Decatur County Community Foundation.  Complete details for each scholarship are available on the individual online scholarship application.

Attie M. Austin Memorial Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help students seeking vocational training.

​

Roland Curtis and Willa Marie Barnes Nursing Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to support a Decatur County student pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree in nursing.

​

Joanie Bostic Memorial Senior Pirate Spirit Award

Established to honor Joanie Bostic’s spirit, faith, love of young people, and enthusiasm for Greensburg athletics. The scholarship is to recognize a senior who shows outstanding school spirit by participation or support of athletics or music.

​

Colleen Bray Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for students seeking certification in dog grooming, vet tech, or any secondary education in animal sciences. Graduating seniors, current college students, and adults are eligible to apply. You must live in Decatur County .

​

Rev. Robert L. Browning Memorial Scholarship
This award shall be given annually to any student from Decatur County seeking a career in the ministry or a social or human service organization or a student planning on attending Anderson University.

​

Holly Bruns Memorial Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help a graduating senior at South Decatur High School. Preference will be given to a student pursuing post-secondary education at Marian University, who played volleyball or softball for South Decatur High School. In the event that the above criteria are too restrictive, the scholarship would be awarded to a South Decatur High School student pursuing a degree in the field of education, who most closely fits the above criteria in the order of preference.

Kristin Lee Burry Memorial Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help a North Decatur graduate who is pursuing a degree in special education, pediatric medicine, or Christian ministry. Kristin impacted the lives of those who knew her and her parents want her life to be remembered as something God used for good. (Romans 8:28).  They have chosen this scholarship to go to a North Decatur student because of the long history Kristin's family has here.  Kristin's mother and brother graduated from NDHS and her father enjoyed over 25 years of teaching and coaching at NDHS.

Clifford Byard Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for any graduate of South Decatur High School pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree in engineering, music, or education.

​

J-N-J Chapman Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help graduates of North Decatur or South Decatur High Schools that are seeking vocational training or an associates degree at an accredited 2- or 4-year program. Preference will be given to prior recipients, graduating seniors, or any past graduates of North/South Decatur High School (in that order).

Bob Clark Memorial Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help a Decatur County student pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree in criminology or law enforcement.

​

Dennis and Paul Duane Collins Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help a graduating Greensburg High School band student  who plays trombone (1st chair) and will be attending a 2 or 4 year program at an accredited institution. 

​

Stewart G. Corya Purdue University Engineering Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to support a student graduating in the top 15% of their class and will be seeking an engineering degree at Purdue.

​

Thelma E. Corya Indiana University Kelley School of Business Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to support a student graduating in the top 10% of their class or has obtained a GPA of 3.50 or higher, and will be attending IU Kelley School of Business or any other Kelley School of Business campus.

Alan and Cindy (Wentzel) Crowe Memorial Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help a graduating senior from North Decatur High School who plans to pursue a post-secondary degree in teaching or any mathematics-heavy course of study. Preference will be given to students planning to attend Indiana State University.

​

Dennis Crowe Science Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to leave a legacy to the school where Mr. Crowe graduated and taught. It is for a graduate of North Decatur High School pursuing a 2- or 4-year science degree.

​

Decatur County Cattle Battle Scholarship

The intent of this scholarship is to support a graduating senior from Greensburg High School, North Decatur High School, or South Decatur High School who participated in 4-H showing beef cattle. 

​

John T. Deniston Science Scholarship

The intent of this scholarship is to help a graduating senior from South Decatur High School pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree in agriculture or nursing.

​

Danny W. Dieckmann Memorial Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help any student that is or has graduated from North Decatur and is pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree in agriculture or a related field of study.

​

Arnold D. Ducanes, MD Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help students seeking training in the field of allied health.

​

Krista Eldridge Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for a North Decatur or Greensburg student with a GPA of 2.5 or above, pursuing any post-secondary education. Preference is given to those going to Purdue or those pursuing a major in Human and Social Services. (Award will be paid at the start of their second semester.)

​

Henry A. and Ruby Ernstes Family Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help students who will be attending Marian University. Preference will be given to those majoring in nursing.

​

Martha L. Frost Scholarship

This scholarship is open to Greensburg High School students pursuing a degree in art.

​

GCHS Class of 1941 and 1942 Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to support a Greensburg Community High School graduating senior pursuing a degree at a vocational or 2-year institution.

​

GCHS Class of 1961 Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to support the 61st student in the Greensburg Community High School graduating class, pursuing a degree at a 2- or 4-year institution.

​

Joyce J. Green Memorial Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to support a graduating senior at Greensburg Community High School pursuing a degree at a 2- or 4-year institution.

​

William H. Greiwe Scholarship

This scholarship is for any student who will be a graduating senior from a certified high school or home school program and lives in Greensburg/Decatur County. It is awarded by the Optimist Club.

​

Frank & Margaret Hahn Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help a graduate or graduating senior at South Decatur. High School that will be pursuing a certificate, associate's degree or bachelor's degree in a medical or science field, including agriculture. The student must show financial need.

​

Paul and Eleanor Hoffman Memorial Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help a Greensburg Community High School graduate in their second through their fourth year of study if they had received a scholarship from the DCCF as a freshman.

​

Adam Holtkamp Memorial Scholarship

The intent of this scholarship is to help a graduating senior that resides in Decatur County and is currently attending Greensburg Community High School, North Decatur High School, South Decatur High School, or Oldenburg Academy.  The student must plan on attending an accredited institution with a Field of Study in agriculture.  This scholarship may also be applied to trades schools that teach ag-related skills.

​

Don and Barb Horan Memorial Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help a student residing in Decatur County that will graduate from Oldenburg Academy.

​

Steve Hunter Memorial Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help students seeking vocational training.

​

Delmar and Janet Knecht Memorial Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to support a student pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree, and who has a "B" average or above.

​

Knights of Columbus, Council 1041 Scholarship

This scholarship was established to help a student who is the child of a devoted active or deceased member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1042.

​

Lake Santee Women's Club Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to support a student who is a full-time resident of Lake Santee intending on pursuing any post-secondary education.

​

Dr. Irwin and Dot Lanning Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to support a graduating senior from Greensburg, North Decatur, or South Decatur High School with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. This student must plan to study in the field of engineering, agriculture, education, information technology, science, or math at an accredited 2- or 4-year institution.

​

Burney and Lucy Lehman Scholarship

The Burney and Lucy Lehman Scholarships will be given to Greensburg students, and are disbursed for up to four years of post-secondary education. The intent of the scholarship is to make a significant impact on graduating seniors who may have had a difficult time attending a post-secondary institute.

​

Campbell "Buck" McIntyre Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help South Decatur High School students, with a minimum grade of a “B” average or better, seeking a post-secondary degree in education. Students pursuing a degree in any field of science, including agriculture science, will also be considered.

​

Darryl P. Menefee Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship if for a graduating senior from North Decatur High School that has been a member or manager of the baseball team at some point.  This student must be pursuing a 2- or 4-year post-secondary education.

​

On Eagle's Wings Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help a graduating senior residing in Decatur County, regardless of where they attend high school (homeschooled students may apply), pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited institution.

​

Holly Peters Nursing Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help a graduating senior from Greensburg Community High School who plans to pursue a post-secondary degree in Nursing. 

​

Diane Reynolds Memorial Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help a South Decatur student seeking post-secondary education and demonstrates the spirit and work ethic of Mrs. Reynolds.

​

Rhodes-DeMoss Family Vocational Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is for students seeking certification in an occupation considered a skilled trade. High school graduates from North Decatur High School, South Decatur High School, and Greensburg Community High School are eligible to apply. This scholarship is intended to cover tuition related to the attainment of certification in courses of study that call under the category of skilled trades.

Clifford "Skip" Ricke Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for a Decatur County resident pursuing a degree in agriculture or a related field.

​

Roscoe Family Scholarship

This scholarship is for any graduate of South Decatur High School pursuing a post-secondary degree in education or nursing. The student must have a “C+” average. School and community activities will be considered.

​

Sandusky Methodist Men's Scholarship

The intent of this scholarship is to help a graduate or graduating senior from North Decatur High School seeking a career in ministry.

​

Myer and Wilma Schreiber Memorial Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to support a Greensburg High School student attending a 4-year Baccalaureate program.

​

Howard G. Shake Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to support a North Decatur High School student who may have a difficult time receiving post-secondary education.

​

Robert E. Simmonds Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for any graduate or graduating senior from Greensburg Community High School or North Decatur High School that will be pursuing a post-secondary degree in transportation mechanics.

​

Pat Smith in Loving Memory of Tracey Lynn Smyser Scholarship Fund

The mission of this scholarship is to provide an educational scholarship for students of North Decatur High School, South Decatur HIgh School, Greensburg Community High School, or Oldenburg Academy who are accepted into and attend a two- or four-year public or private institutions of higher learning.

Bonnie Springmeyer Nursing Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help a Greensburg Community High School graduate who is pursuing a degree in nursing (Award will be paid at the start of sophomore year of college).

​

George F. Tanner Memorial Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to support a North or South Decatur High School graduate who is pursuing a degree in a foreign language and/or teaching (Award will be paid at the start of sophomore year of college with a 2.5 GPA).

​

James A. Volk Engineering Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to support a student pursuing a degree in engineering at any school with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering program (Award will be paid at the start of sophomore year of college).

​​

Dorotha A. Wenning Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to assist a graduating senior from Greensburg Community High School who plans to pursue a post-secondary degree.

​

Loren and Mary York Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help a North Decatur or South Decatur graduate seek post-secondary training in education or teaching.

​

Zetterburg Family Music Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help North Decatur or South Decatur students seeking post-secondary training in music.

​

Therese Zins Tree County Players Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Therese Zins Tree County Players Memorial Scholarship was founded in 2021 by the TCP Board of Directors in memory of Therese Zins, a longtime supporter of TCP. This fund provides a scholarship to any Decatur County senior who has participated in high school drama or a community theater for at least one year during high school.
