2018 Lilly Endowment Winner, Where is She Now?

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship provides for full tuition, required fees and up to $900 per year for required books and equipment for four years of undergraduate study.

The 2018 Lilly Endowment Scholarship Winner was Claire Wullenweber. Her parents are Paula and Craig Wullenweber. She is a South Decatur graduate and graduated from Purdue University in the Spring of 2022.

Claire recently started working as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Eskenazi Hospital in downtown Indianapolis. She hopes to take the NCLEX before the end of the summer and officially become a Registered Nurse. In the fall, Claire will start back at Purdue to pursue her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree, with a specialty in family practice as a nurse practitioner.

When asked about the Lilly application process Claire said, “Going through the Lilly application and interview process helped me grow and gain confidence as a person. I realize how much I have my community to thank for encouraging me to serve others and be a better person. The Lilly process before college helped me learn more about who I was, and then made college not so intimidating as I tried to navigate a whole new world.”

We are so proud to have Claire Wullenweber as a representative of Decatur County. Congratulations Claire and best of luck!
